Gunwales Done

This past weekend I finished epoxying the cherry gunwales on the canoe. They were extremely hard to bend along the curving length of the canoe and I'm glad that part is over. I wanted to join the two ends to form a nice joint but I didn't see any way to achieve that. The wood just doesn't bend enough and to hold it in position would have been virtually impossible.

NICE LOOKING TRIM

Not too much has been completed on the canoe lately, the spacing on the inwales took me while to figure out. Im onto the trim now so a lot of care needs to be taken to make it all look good and tight. Once I figured out the spacing so that the seats would workout I had to go out and buy a router table $$$$ that would enable me to cut the scuppers cleanly. This is going to be the most expensive canoe you have ever seen. Below is a shot of the gunwales temporarily screwed on prior to epoxying them.
